Statewide rain removing all drought
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS river monitoring sites in Ohio
Streamflows run seasonal normal statewide midweek with three much above seasonal normal readings coming through for the Great Miami River basin.
Severe drought continues to grip Wheeling Creek watershed, maintaining pressure on the water resources of Belmont, southeast Harrison and south Jefferson Counties. Adjacent Wills Creek watershed in the Muskingum River basin drains the opposite direction from Ohio River minor tributary Wheeling Creek, this watershed is rated moderate drought today. Widespread below normal ratings have come off leaving St Josephs, Tiffin, Lower Maumee, Upper Wabash and Sandusky River watersheds on the drought map in the northwest. Ohio River minor tributary Raccoon-Symmes Creek watershed is also rated below normal. Eight of Ohio's 32 watersheds remain on the drought map after months of statewide drought.
Cleveland forecast office reports light rain with patchy fog moving in from 11 am to 1 pm, 38 degrees with a 70% chance for more rain and snow showers before 3pm. Tonight, 30% chance of rain showers before 10pm, turning to snow showers, low 32. No snow accumulation expected. Wilmington forecast office reports light rain in the south, 39 degrees with more showers on the way, mainly before 1pm, 90% chance for a tenth of an inch. Tonight, a chance of flurries after 1am, low around 28.
