WT HAB Tracker from the satellite monitoring program of the NOAA National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science(NCCOS)

The latest upload from NCCOS was captured Nov 18 at a much slower surface wind speed than other images captured during the past couple of weeks, down to 5.1 mph from excess of 16 mph for the previous image. The latest picture is still largely cloud obscured, however we can see the Sandusky Bay HAB peeking out between clouds, this appears* widespread in the inner bay area between Pickerel Point and OH-269, matching the concentration scale for 300 thousand cells per ml. A clear image captured Nov 13 showed localized HABs along the Ohio shoreline from Port Clinton to Catawba Island, small open water HABs in Sandusky Bay and a large area of dispersed HAB mats east of Sandusky Bay, the concentration is low, 100 thousand cells per ml or less.

See the latest NCCOS image, here.

*Editor's note of correction - the HAB visible in Sandusky Bay was initially reported as spotted in the outer bay area from OH-269 to Cedar Point.
