The defendant held a discharge permit for oil and grease industrial wastewater to a municipal facility equipped to receive such wastewater. Federal district court received a bill of information from the EPA investigators indicating employees of the defendant discharged wastewater in at least ten separate incidents to various locations in San Diego County, including the Naval Amphibious Base.
The corporate defendant entered a guilty plea to a single count, knowing violation of the Clean Water Act. Sentencing included a federal fine, restitution payable to San Diego Industrial Wastewater Program and three years of probation.
