The Village of Woodville notifies water customers for planned BWA
October 3 2025 Sandusky County - The Village of Woodville has issued a statement regarding a planned boil water advisory scheduled for October 6 2025 for all residents on Lime St.

Drinking Water Facility: Village of Woodville
Owner: local government
Location: Woodville, OH
County: Sandusky
Watershed: Cedar Portage
Active Permit: OH7200912
Activity Date: May 31, 1974
System Type: community water system
Population Served: 2006
Connections: 923
Source: ground water
From the 2024 Annual Water Quality Report:
"Currently the Woodville Water System receives water from nine active wells, which range from 250 to 300 feet deep into the underground source water called the aquifer. Seven wells are located on the west side of the Village, while the other two wells are located near the Water Plant. The following treatment is provided by the current system after water is pumped from the wells; lime and soda ash softening, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, stabilization, filtration, fluoridation and disinfection. The Aquifer that supplies drinking water to the Village has a high susceptibility to contamination. This is due to the sensitive nature of the aquifer in which the drinking water wells are located and the existing potential contaminant sources identified. Future contamination may be avoided by implementing protective measures. Woodville’s Wellhead Protection program is dedicated to providing our community with a clean and safe drinking water supply. Community efforts in water conservation and pollution prevention will assist in achieving that goal. Detailed information is available by calling the Water Department at 419-849-3031. "

*Note that drinking water information provided on this site is aggregated from the federal EPA database, state resources and local government sources where available.
EPA publishes violation and enforcement data quarterly, based on the inspection reports of the previous quarter. Water systems, states and EPA take up to three months to verify this data is accurate and complete. Specific questions about your local water supply should be directed to the facility.
The EPA safe drinking water facilities data available to the public presents what is known to the government based upon the most recently available information for more than one million regulated facilities. EPA and states inspect a percentage of facilities each year, but many facilities, particularly smaller ones, may not have received a recent inspection. It is possible that facilities do have violations that have not yet been discovered, thus are shown as compliant in the system.
EPA cannot positively state that facilities without violations shown in ECHO are necessarily fully compliant with environmental laws. Additionally, some violations at smaller facilities do not need to be reported from the states to EPA. If ECHO shows a recent inspection and the facility is shown with no violations identified, users of the ECHO site can be more confident that the facility is in compliance with federal programs.
The compliance status of smaller facilities that have not had recent inspections or review by EPA or the states may be unknown or only available via state data systems.
