System-wide boil advisory for City of Troy following major water main break
Safe Drinking Water Act Advisories
Miami County: Troy City Public Water System has been under a system-wide Boil Water order following a major water main break on Friday. Troy City serves 26305 residents from a groundwater well source in the Upper Great Miami River watershed. According to EPA records, the last sanitary survey inspection of the facility was completed by OEPA in May 2022. Recommendations were made for finished water storage, operator compliance and source. In the last twelve quarters, non-compliance noted seven times, Consumer Confidence Rule violations have since been resolved.
Guernsey County: Village of Pleasant City had the water shut off last week for repairs. Approximately 447 customers were under BWA following restoration of service, until the lab confirmed the water safe to drink from the tap. A BWA is issued after line breaks, repairs, pump failure, power outage or any time the pressure drops below 20 psi. The order will remain in force until lab testing confirms the water is potable, or safe for drinking.
Village of Pleasant City provides water to 447 residents from a groundwater well source in the Wills Creek watershed. The facility has a perfect compliance record with SDWA, as far as US EPA verified timelines, to the end of September 2024.
