Streamflow Situation from the network of US Geological Survey monitors in Ohio
Water levels are up overnight through the central Lake Erie basin. The record high water level continues on the Huron River near Milan, the highest Feb 4 in 67 years. Black, Rocky and Chagrin Rivers are all observed above the 90th percentile Tuesday. Huron River rose into action stage over the weekend, peaking two feet below flood stage and tapering off yesterday, as reported here. Today, Huron River is rising again, 99th percentile level, back into action stage, more than two and a half feet from flood stage. See the front page map for high flow details in blue.
Streamflows through the Mississippi River drainage basin run mostly seasonal normal through the four north-to-south drainage areas of the Ohio interior. An arc of below normal flow observations dots the interior from Great Miami River basin on the west side to the Upper Ohio River minor tributaries in the east. Central Ohio's Muskingum River basin remains the last remaining drought Tuesday. Extreme drought sticks on Wills Creek's Guernsey County, with adjacent Muskingum and Licking River watersheds rated below normal. Neighboring Ohio River minor tributary Wheeling Creek remains below normal another day, reflecting the below normal streamflows described above. Check out the front page map with watershed layer and directional arrows to track with the drought map description here.

Safe Drinking Water Act Advisories
Hardin County: Kenton Water service was disrupted on Sunday for infrastructure upgrades to be completed by midnight Sunday night. Customers on a precautionary boil water order following restoration of that water service include properties on N. Detroit and Courthouse Sq., the BWA will remain in force until samples show clear of contamination two consecutive daily draws. Watch for the announcement from the local officials to confirm tapwater safe to drink without boiling.
Kenton City serves 8830 residents from a groundwater source in Upper Scioto River watershed. EPA notes non-compliance issues in the last twelve out of twelve quarters concerning groundwater treatment technique and Consumer Confidence Rule.
Pike County: Waverly was once again under BWA over the weekend due to low supply. A leak on St. Mary's Lane drew down the supply faster than the treatment plant could replenish. Waverly City Public Water System supplies 4433 customers from a groundwater source in Lower Scioto watershed. The facility is recorded with non-compliance issue, "other violation" of Consumer Confidence Rule in the latest three consecutive quarters, unaddressed.
New quarterly stats are out from EPA, Ohio has 41 drinking water facilities on the new Serious Violator list, see the updated list, here.
