Safe Drinking Water Act Advisories
Pike County: Waverly re-issued a boil advisory at midnight on Friday after rescinding a previous advisory 12 hours earlier. The boil order was prompted by a breach in water supply, the usage demand and a leak on St. Mary's Lane drew down and depleted the finished water storage faster than the treatment plant could fill it. Recent work has been done at the water treatment plant to improve flow volume of treated water to customers, the leak tipped the balance forcing the BWA until further notice. The BWA can be rescinded with two consecutive daily samples testing clear of microbiological contamination.
Trumbull County: McDonald Village Public Water System issued a Boil Water Advisory on Thursday Jan 30 for customers connecting from 2078 Ohltown Road to McDonald Avenue west to state Route 46, until further notice. McDonald Village distributes potable water to 3172 residents from a surface water source, purchased from another licensed facility in the Mahoning River watershed.
Trumbull County: Niles City Public Water System has issued a BWA following a water outage Tuesday. Customers on South Main Street from Gilbert Avenue to Ohltown Road, Ohltown Road to McDonald Avenue, and customers on Lakeside Drive are impacted by the order until further notice. Niles City Public Water System serves 21,961 residents including residential and commercial connections from a surface water source purchased from another licensed water facility in Mahoning River watershed.
New quarterly stats are out from EPA, Ohio has 41 drinking water facilities on the new Serious Violator list, see the updated list, here.
