City of Bucyrus issues BWA following water main break

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Crawford County: Bucyrus City Water issued a BWA yesterday following a water main break. Contaminants may have entered the water supply in the area of the water main break, when the water pressure drops below 20 psi. The BWA applies to customers on Teddy Avenue and Dudley Street from Sherman Street to the east end of Dudley until further notice. Bucyrus City serves 12570 customers from a surface water source in the Sandusky River watershed.

Hamilton County: Harrison City Public Water System has issued a boil order for some customers following a water main break Monday. The BWA applies to customers connecting on West Road between Westbrook Drive and Stone Drive. Compass Point Condominiums are included in this boil order. Harrison City PWS serves 11400 residents plus commercial connections from a groundwater source in the Lower Great Miami River watershed.

An extreme cold weather advisory has passed as of 10 am. The temperature this hour at Marion Municipal Airport, 1 degree F and mostly cloudy, heading for a high near 12, the wind chill takes that down to -19 degrees F. Looking at a slight chance of snow showers tonight between 10pm and 11pm, warming to 8 degrees overnight, the overnight wind chill -6. NWS Wilmington is reporting a temp of 3 degrees F, the daytime high today 17 degrees F.

Current streamflow measurements favor the below normal ratings through the interior from west to east, several low ratings remain overnight, see the front page map for low flow details. Severe drought has jumped from Muskingum Basin to the Ohio River minor tributaries, doubling the number of Ohio watersheds so rated. Wills Creek and Wheeling Creek watershed share the severe drought designation midweek while Muskingum River basin's Mohican, Hocking and Tuscarawas River watersheds, along with Ohio River minor tributary Little Beaver Creek watershed are all rated below normal. In the northwest, Lake Erie drainage basin, St. Josephs, Tiffin, Lower Maumee, Blanchard and Sandusky River watersheds are rated below normal.
