A dump of snow for the north today, arctic air mass moving in

Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by NWS Cleveland at 640 am Thur Jan 16
1 to 3 inches of snowfall is possible today with a system moving through the region.

An arctic air mass will arrive across the region next Monday into Tuesday. Wind chills are likely to fall below -15F and cold weather advisories may be needed. Stay tuned for updates.

Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by NWS Wilmington at 318 am Thur Jan 16
Light snow is expected through mid morning, with accumulations of up to one half of an inch possible. Quick light accumulations on untreated surfaces and reduced visibility in the steadier snow may impact the morning commute. Lingering isolated snow showers and flurries may continue intermittently through the daytime.

An extended stretch of bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills is expected Monday through Wednesday.

Streamflow Situation from the network of US Geological Survey monitors in Ohio
Water levels are down statewide, extreme low level reported in the Lake Erie basin's Sandusky River watershed with many stations across the north reporting below the 10th percentile. South of the state divide, streamflows range from seasonal normal to much below normal, a 2nd percentile low value pops up on the Ohio River minor tribs in Wheeling Creek. The Wheeling Creek watershed is lit up in extreme drought, severe drought remains in Wills Creek watershed of the Muskingum River basin of central Ohio. Much of the lower Muskingum basin is rated below normal, along with the southeast Ohio River minor tributaries not otherwise rated with more severe drought. Little Beaver Creek, Shade River and Raccoon-Symmes watersheds are below normal.

Cleveland local forecast office reports 27 degrees with a 30 percent chance of snow showers today, mainly after 5pm, the total daytime snow accumulation 1 to 2 inches possible. Tonight, the north could see more snow showers, a slight chance of snow coming before midnight.

Fair conditions, 30 degrees in the south, NWS Wilmington reporting an expected high today 32 degrees with a slight chance of scattered flurries this afternoon starting before 3pm, shifting to a heavier snowfall for a short period mid afternoon with strong wind gusts to 28 mph.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Logan County: The Bellefontaine City Public Water System issued a BWA following repairs to a broken water main on Reynolds Avenue on Monday, this BWA has now been rescinded. Bellefontaine City Public Water System serves 13,249 residential customers from a groundwater source in the Upper Great Miami River watershed.
