Accordingly, more watersheds are peeling off the drought map, the 7-day average streamflows have edged up enough to indicate the moisture returning to the landscape in a greater part of the Lake Erie drainage basin, specifically the northeast watersheds, and the upper Scioto River watershed, now unrated. The severity of the drought is likewise shifting in a positive direction, just one watershed remains rated severe drought, St Jospephs River in the northwest is the driest part of the state. Moderate drought continues in the Ohio River minor tributaries Wheeling Creek, Raccoon-Symmes and Laughery Creek, as well as the Little Muskingum River watershed bordering the Ohio River in the east. In the northwest, Cedar-Portage Rivers watershed has been relieved of moderate drought, matching the rest of the west drainage basin at below normal, Sandusky River watershed remains at moderate drought.
THe major part of Muskingum River drainage basin remains below normal, sparing Licking River and Wills Creek watersheds, unrated. The lower Scioto River, Paint Creek and Tygarts watersheds of central Ohio remain below normal. Upper Great Miami River watershed is rated below normal today, moderate drought has broken. Little Miami River remains below normal while the Lower Great Miami River watershed is unrated.
