National Weather Service Cleveland forecast center announcing a chance of showers Sunday for Cleveland area, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. The chance of precipitation is set at 40% with rainfall less than a tenth of an inch expected, higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

NCCOS uploads a new satellite photo of Lake Erie west basin daily. The latest image was captured June 1 at a surface wind speed of 10.7 mph. This image is partially cloud obscured with no HAB activity visible between clouds. The image captured one day earlier was mostly clear, open water HABs and localized HABs observed in the outer Sandusky Bay area west of Johnson's Island Causeway and along the south shore of Johnson's Island. These HABs matched the concentration color scale for a moderate to high bloom around 500 thousand cells per 100 ml.
Ohio Department of Health posts e.coli test results and the associated Bacterial Contamination advisories issued for public beaches along with microcystins lab test results behind Algal Toxin advisories. The same sixteen recreational health advisories remain in effect Sunday morning as reported here on Friday May 31. Ten Lake Erie beaches are posted with high bacteria levels in Erie County including Heidelberg, Lake Front, Lion's Park, Battery Park, Darby Creek, Crystal Rock, Bay View East, Beulah Beach, Sherod Park and Columbia Park beaches. Interior water bodies with bacterial contamination advisories include Shawnee - Roosevelt Camp, Shawnee - Turkey Creek Lodge, East Fork Lake beaches. WT USA Flows and Flood Tracker provisional data from the network of USGS streamflow monitors
Forty-three streamflow gauges record active floodings in the USA Sunday, Saturday, down from forty-eight Saturday. Two floods occur inside the WT coverage area, both in Louisiana.
Region 5: Vermilion River breached flood briefly Sunday morning at Surrey St in Lafayette, over-running the channel from 3 am until 945 am. Peak flow was reached by 4 am and the flood is already over as of this update. Region 4 flooding continues on the Calcasieu River near Glenmora, currently signalling a gauge height seven inches over the channel on a slow declining trend. Border Sabine River continues to overflow the lower channel in southwest Louisiana this morning, running a level nine to ten inches over minor flood stage. NWS calls for showers in the northwest again today. As the ground is saturated after a week of rain, we could see more surface runoff leading to river flooding. More to follow. As many drinking water facilities are supplied from surface water reservoirs, the streamflow situation is pertinent to both drinking water supply and quality. High flows can stir up sediment and cause turbidity in the reservoirs, requiring additional treatments to render the water potable. Low flow volume is linked to warmer temperatures in the reservoir and can be an issue for water quality where HABs are present. WT tracks streamflow trends with an eye to the impacts on drinking water supply and quality in each of the state's watersheds. Check the watershed layer on the map to see the direction of flow and streamflows that may be impacting drinking water today.
USGS Provisional Data Statement
Data are provisional and subject to revision until they have been thoroughly reviewed and received final approval. Current condition data relayed by satellite or other telemetry are automatically screened to not display improbable values until they can be verified.
Provisional data may be inaccurate due to instrument malfunctions or physical changes at the measurement site. Subsequent review based on field inspections and measurements may result in significant revisions to the data.
