NWS: Hazardous Weather Outlook for north Ohio Saturday

Drinking Water Advisories
Trumbull County - City of Niles has issued a system wide BWA following replacement of an eight-inch main valve at Robbins Avenue and Wood Street yesterday. The BWA applies until further notice.

Impacting Lucas-Wood-Ottawa-Sandusky-Erie-Lorain-Hancock-Seneca-Huron-Medina-Summit-Portage-Trumbull-Wyandot-Crawford-Richland-Ashland-Wayne-Stark-Mahoning-Marion-Morrow-Holmes-Knox Counties

Tomorrow, Saturday March 9 - Strong west winds may gust up to 40 mph on Sunday behind a cold front with a low pressure system.

Streamflow Situation from USGS current streamflow monitors
Streamflows have normalized statewide overnight with a mix of below normal ratings recorded across the Lake Erie drainage basin. Three stations are recording much below normal north of the divide, one station records much above normal down south in the Paint Creek watershed.

No extreme high or low flows are recorded Friday, no active flooding.

Drought Map USGS 7-day average streamflow against seasonal average
Moderate hydrologic drought has expanded a second day in the west Lake Erie drainage basin. As of Friday, the St Josephs River and Upper Maumee River watersheds join Tiffin and Auglaize River watersheds in the moderate hydrologic drought rating. Adjacent area to the south rated below normal are St Marys and Wabash watersheds, still part of the Lake Erie drainage area. Adjacent area to the north includes the Lower Maumee River watershed, rated below normal.

Huron-Vermilion River watershed remains below normal, Cuyahoga River watershed is also below normal.

South of the divide, Upper Ohio River minor tributary Mahoning River takes on a below normal rating. Raccoon-Symmes watershed is off the drought map Friday. Mahoning River watershed is the only area of the Mississippi-bound flow rated on the drought map as of Friday.

Hazardous Spills
Spills in Ohio are reported to the 24 hour emergency spill hotline with response handled by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency 24/7 at 1-800-282-9378 or 614-224-0946. Anyone with knowledge of a spill of hazardous material is to make a report.
