Drinking Water Advisories
- Bowling Green - Wood County - Lower Maumee River watershed - A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for a water line repair effective Sep 19 for Cogan’s Crossing neighborhood. Once the repair is complete, a water boil advisory will be in place for up to 48 hours
Two boil water advisories in the Great Miami River drainage basin impacting parts of Bellefontaine in Logan County have been rescinded
HABs update from National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science satellite monitoring program for West Basin Lake Erie
Sep 18 image acquired Sep 19 shows a band of algal bloom from inner Maumee Bay at Toledo stretching twenty plus miles up the Michigan shore. The bloom has narrowed to a thin strip along shore extending east as Port Clinton and matching under 100 thousand cells per 100 ml for concentration
Sandusky Bay bloom continues to occupy the inner bay from Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area to Bayview and the outer bay area up to Cedar Point staying consistently around 800 to 900 thousand cells per 100 ml most of the season.
An algal bloom on the open water side of Cedar Point extends in a narrow patchy band east to the Huron River outlet
Monitoring season has ended for e.coli and HABs in recreational waters.
Long term Recreational Public Health Advisories remain active on 4 Grand Lake beaches in St Marys River watershed show microcystins values ranging from 1.8 to 17.2 ug/L in samples taken Sep 11
As of the close of beach monitoring season 2023, five Lake Erie beaches remain on the active advisory list at Ohio BeachGuard for bacterial contamination including Beulah, Heidelberg, Main Street, Nokomis, Sherod Park
Camp Dennison and Izaak Walton League at Loveland remain active bacterial contamination advisories - see HABs button to the right of the map for details
Streamflow Situation
USGS streamflow gages reporting mostly normal throughout the state with higher than normal flow at the Old Woman Creek and lower than normal flows on the Olentangy River at Worthington and Auglaize River near Defiance. There are currently no stations recording flows above the 99th percentile in Ohio.
