  • Woodsville - Nelsonville - Byesville no longer listed for excess trihalomethane
  • Byesville is back on the list for Lead and Copper rule violations
  • Wauseon City - Glandorf Village - Delta Village added to the OEPA list for excess trihalomethane

5 short term BWAs issued:
Ohio River Tributaries - 2 BWAs in Little Beaver Creek watershed
  • Washingtonville - Columbiana County - a village wide BWA issued August 11 for unknown cause
  • Wintersville - Jefferson County - BWA issued Aug 28 for residents of Garden Drive and Meadow Road due to line breaks
Shade River watershed
  • Marietta - Washington County - BWA issued Sep 8 for Cole-Coffman to 900 Lancaster St., Sunnyhill Drive, Gates, Nelson Avenue, Lincoln Circle, Pershing, Kingman, Wyoming, Cheyenne, Laramie, Edgewood and adjacent areas
Upper Great Miami River watershed:
  • Bellefontaine - Logan County - BWA issued Sep 12 for 400-609 North Main Street, 501 North Madriver Street, 500 North Detroit Street, 100 block of West Williams, 100 block of East Williams, 711 Rush Avenue
  • Bellefontaine - Logan County - BWA issued Sep 9 for all of Richard Avenue and 1301-1540 Wright Street due to a water main repair. Residents are advised to boil water for five minutes until further notice

HABs update from Ohio Beachguard and National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science satellite HABs monitoring program for West Basin Lake Erie
Maumee Bay bloom occupies an area from the southwest shore approximately 20 miles north up the Michigan shore matching the color scale for 700 to 800 thousand cells per 100 ml in the west and tapering off to 100 to 200 thousand cells per 100 ml at the east edge of the mass near Port Clinton
Sandusky Bay bloom occupies the inner and outer harbor matching 800 to 900 thousand cells per 100 ml extending out into open water and east to Huron River outlet where the bloom concentration is 100 to 200 thousand cells per 100 ml.

Long term HABs on 4 Grand Lake beaches in St Marys River watershed show microcystins values ranging from 1.8 to 17.2 ug/L in samples taken Sep 11

Five Lake Erie beaches have active bacterial contamination advisories including Beulah, Heidelberg, Main Street, Nokomis, Sherod Park
Edgewater State Park and Villa Angela State Park beach advisories have been rescinded.
Camp Dennison and Izaak Walton League at Loveland have bacterial contamination advisories - see HABs button to the right of the map for details

Hazardous Spills
Ohio EPA received the following spill incident reports impacting water:
  • Sep 8 - unknown amount of trade name mixture reported spilled on OH-83 in Wooster - Wayne- Little Apple Creek impacted
  • Sep 8 - unknown amount of gasoline and motor oil reported spilled on Marshall Ave in Miami Township - Hamilton- Great Miami River impacted
